**Objective:** Effectively implement and maintain compliance protocols across all our operations. Following industry best practices, regulatory requirements, SMETA principles, HACCP, and FAIR TRADE standards to identify and mitigate potential operational risks. **Responsibilities:** * Provide guidance and support in implementing control measures at origin, ensuring our co-packers comply with required standards. * Conduct facility and cold storage unit inspections, generating data for sharing with customers—such as audit reports or social and food safety risk assessments. * Understand specific requirements and regulations governing the handling of food products and personnel involved in the process. * Ensure compliance with food safety standards and appropriate handling procedures during product transportation and storage, as well as incoming and outgoing inspections. * Conduct thorough inspections to ensure products are sourced appropriately and socially responsibly, and are free from contamination, damage, or any other potential risks—including unethical social practices. * Perform routine checks to confirm facilities operate within required standards and that products are stored and protected appropriately. * Establish comprehensive inspection procedures, monitor regulatory compliance, and ensure all necessary documentation and quality standards are met. * Conduct periodic training sessions for facility staff, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to uphold the highest standards. * Provide meticulous supervision and training. * Ensure our border facilities serve as reliable entry points for safe, high-quality food products—reinforcing our commitment to food safety and regulatory compliance. * Manage and monitor your program, ensuring it receives necessary attention and resources. * Stay up to date with latest Mexico-specific or customer-specific regulations and standards. * Design and implement programs to meet requirements, reducing non-compliance risk and associated penalties. * Continuously monitor and evaluate program performance. * Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes—leading to continuous program effectiveness and rapid response to emerging challenges or risks. * Deliver region-specific training and development efforts tailored to each region’s requirements. * Enhance internal team communication and collaboration, fostering knowledge sharing and facilitating coordination among different functions or departments involved in quality assurance and food safety. * Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to increase visibility and coordination—strengthening our existing Compliance program and establishing appropriate reporting mechanisms by our co-packers. * Ensure strict compliance with FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) Sections 204 and FSVP requirements. Maintain extensive documentation, risk assessments, and FDA regulatory compliance—ensuring DM products meet the highest food safety standards. * Actively participate in developing new Mexico programs—including bananas, mangoes, melons, conventional and organic bananas, pineapples, herbs, cilantro, green onions, kale, parsley, broccoli, cauliflower, spring mix, and Roma tomatoes—and ensure these programs meet stringent quality standards and align with MANN’s overall quality objectives. **REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES** * **Food Industry Engineer, Biochemical Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, or equivalent. (Candidates with relevant experience will also be considered.)** * +5 years of technical expertise in food safety and food processing, with emphasis on lemon cultivation and packaging. * Extensive experience in sustainability, social compliance, food safety regulatory requirements, and quality control processes—including preparation of audit reports or social, safety, and food quality risk assessments. * Extensive experience in facility and cold room inspections. * Knowledge of specific requirements and regulations governing food product management—ensuring documentary compliance and quality standards. * Organizational skills demonstrating ability to work independently and efficiently manage and prioritize multiple tasks without difficulty, with excellent attention to detail. * Experience working in global, multicultural environments with appropriate cultural awareness. * Excellent management, time management, and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and presentation skills.
