For over 100 years, our values have guided how we work together to influence, evolve, and grow our future. **Job Description** **OBJECTIVE:** Design and implement test sequences and the necessary software to perform software/system validation on products designed at KOSTAL North America. **RESPONSIBILITIES:** Review and fully understand product requirements and I/O space. Determine which product requirements will be tested by Software Validation. Create and maintain a validation schedule/process. Draft test specifications. Design, create, and document detailed and specific steps for each test sequence. Link product requirements (e.g., DOORS) to applicable test sequences. Analyze/deep-dive into product design to establish module functionality tests not explicitly stated in product requirements. Organize test sequences into logical groups. Write system test usage documents and module I/O mapping to tester. Modify the unit under test as needed for connection to KOSTAL’s hardware-in-the-loop test systems. Design and build hardware test boxes to connect KOSTAL’s hardware-in-the-loop test systems to the module. Create CANoe (CAN/LIN bus) configurations using (CAPL, User Panels, DLLs, etc.) Create simulated vehicle bus environments. Develop node simulations, user interface panels, etc., to provide additional functionality (e.g., diagnostics and automated testing) as required by the project team and for validation. Perform formal system and software validation tests, generate test reports, and report issues to the team. Review and approve test specifications and reports from other team members. Create a ticket (in JIRA) to describe the problem/malfunction reported in test cases marked as failures; ensure reported tickets are properly closed. Perform Hardware Characterization Tests for vehicle buses (CAN, LIN, etc.) and generate the corresponding test report. Perform Diagnostic Tests for vehicle buses (CAN, LIN, etc.) and generate the corresponding test report. **Requirements** Minimum 6 years of experience as Embedded SW Module & Systems Development Engineer and/or Software Test & Validation Development Engineer In-depth knowledge of development, testing, validation, and engineering processes ENGLISH – Conversational CAN and LIN communication bus testing CANoe software (Vector) Prototyping and test tool development Automotive communication protocols and inter-chip communication Electrical circuit analysis and design.
