Compensation: MXN $20,000–25,000 gross monthly \+ statutory benefits
About the position
This role focuses on the operation, support, and administration of Red Hat Linux systems in production high-availability environments.
You will participate in managing critical infrastructure, monitoring, incident resolution, and maintenance of virtualized platforms, adhering to stringent operational standards.
Role purpose
Ensure stability, continuous operation, and security of Linux-based services through support, administration, and maintenance tasks, meeting service-level agreements and best practices in mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
Systems Operation and Administration
Configure and administer Red Hat Linux systems in production environments.
Remotely manage servers via SSH; administer users, permissions, processes, and storage.
Manage basic network configurations (IPv4\).
Create and maintain system configuration files.
Support and Infrastructure
Perform deployments on physical and virtual servers. Respond to incidents and requests within infrastructure environments. Apply security patches and updates. Analyze vulnerabilities in Linux systems (and preferably Windows).
Monitoring and Performance
Monitor Linux server performance.
Operate monitoring tools such as Zabbix.
Respond to alerts, events, and system degradations.
Virtualization and Platforms
Create and manage virtual machines in VMware.
Manage environments using vSphere Client.
Provide basic VDI support (VMware Horizon).
Automation and Tools
Execute tasks via command line (Shell). Support basic automation with Ansible.
Use tools such as Red Hat Satellite for patch management.
Documentation and Operational Management
Document configurations, procedures, and solutions. Manage and track tickets.
Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
Control and Tracking
Track tasks, incidents, and requests.
Identify operational risks and escalate promptly.
Generate status reports and evidence of execution.
Essential Requirements
Experience
1–3 years in Linux system support or administration.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Technical Skills
Linux administration (RHEL 6, 7 or later). Basic services: Apache, FTP, DNS. OS and network troubleshooting. VMware virtualization (basic/intermediate). Monitoring with tools such as Zabbix. CLI usage (Shell).
Languages
Intermediate English (preferred).
Desirable Requirements
Ansible knowledge (automation). Experience with Red Hat Satellite. Exposure to tools such as Splunk. Storage knowledge (SAN/NAS). Fundamental networking concepts (Cisco). ITIL or Agile methodologies. RHCSA certification (preferred).
