Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry\-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical\-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical\-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. **Role Purpose** ---------------- The Sr. DT Engineer will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and support of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) within our organization. This role will focus on optimizing manufacturing processes through Digital solutions while ensuring seamless integration between MES and other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, SCADA, etc.). The engineer will act as the technical lead for MES projects, collaborating closely with cross\-functional teams, to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency in our manufacturing operations. Support Manufacturing and business with IT devices and infrastructure, lead implementation and follow AOP Metrics defined. **Key Responsibilities** ------------------------ * Lead the installation, configuration, and support of IT/OT devices in plant and office (PCs, tablets, HMIs, printers, scanners, industrial devices, etc.). * Coordinate with infrastructure and network teams to support connectivity, industrial WiFi, switches, and production\-critical services. * Manage and follow up on incidents, requests, and changes in MES and SAP systems (production, material handling, inventory, Machines). * Understand, map, and document manufacturing and inventory processes, proposing functional improvements in MES and SAP. * Identify manual or inefficient processes and lead digitalization projects (web forms, digital workflows, automation and light integrations). * Design, develop, and maintain internal web applications for data capture, KPI tracking, and automation of operational tasks. * Design, develop, and manage Power BI dashboards with KPIs for production, quality, inventory, and overall operational performance. * Integrate data from MES, SAP, SCADA, and other sources for data modeling, KPI creation, and advanced analysis. * Define and execute advanced analytics / AI / machine learning cases (failure prediction, scrap, demand forecasting, process anomaly detection, etc.). * Supporting and mentoring more junior engineers. * Ensure best practices in documentation, testing, production deployment, and post‑implementation support. * Collaborate closely with cross functional roles (ex. Production, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality) * Aligning digital solutions with plant and business objectives. **Experiences/Education \- Required** ------------------------------------- * Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, Computer Science, or related fields. Nice to have: * 5\+ years of experience in IT/systems roles within manufacturing or logistics environments, with direct interaction with the shop floor. * Experience in MES and/or SAP support or operation in production and inventory processes. * Proven experience in process digitalization (eliminating paper/Excel, automating workflows, system integration). * Experience in internal web application development (stack according to company technology: .NET, Java, Python, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.). * Experience with Power BI: connecting to multiple data sources, data modeling, KPI creation, and building dashboards for operations and management. * Experience applying data analytics and preferably machine learning in industrial contexts **Experiences/Education \- Desired** ------------------------------------ * Courses or certifications in SAP (MM, WM, EWM, PP) or MES platforms. * Certifications in Power BI, data analytics, or cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP). * Certifications in continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) or IT service management (ITIL) **A job that shapes a life.** **Corning offers you the total package.** Your well\-being is our priority.
