REQUIREMENTS The Executive Chef oversees many essential kitchen functions: * Menu Design: Create, update, and cost menus considering the establishment’s identity, profitability (menu engineering), trends, seasonality, and dietary requirements. * Production Supervision: Ensure quality, consistency, and standardization in the preparation and presentation of all dishes, managing timing and supervising all kitchen stations. * Financial Management: Control food costs, manage inventory, negotiate with suppliers, minimize waste, and analyze kitchen profitability. * Team Leadership: Recruit, select, train, evaluate, schedule, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a productive work environment and resolving conflicts. * Hygiene and Safety: Implement and supervise compliance with health regulations, ensuring food safety and workplace safety in the kitchen. * Interdepartmental Collaboration: Maintain effective communication and coordination with other departments such as Procurement, Marketing, and Administration for overall operational efficiency. * Relations and Representation: Interact with key clients, handle special requests, and represent the establishment’s culinary offerings at events or in media.
