Job Summary: We are seeking a Purchaser for the Wholesale Market with experience in perishable goods to ensure freshness and quality of agricultural products. Key Highlights: 1. Experience in purchasing perishable goods and food products. 2. In-depth knowledge of fruits, vegetables, and hygiene regulations. 3. Ability to negotiate with suppliers and manage inventory. **Merkabastos**, a 100% Mexican retail company rooted in Guadalajara, has been committed for 20 years to offering its customers fresh agricultural products. **Purchaser for the Wholesale Market** **Requirements:** · Education: Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in economics, administration, or related fields. · Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement roles, **ideally managing large volumes of perishables, fruits, vegetables, and food industry products**. · Proficiency in Excel, pivot tables, administrative software, and ERP systems. · Experience in quotations and supplier follow-up. · **In-depth knowledge of fruit and vegetable varieties, seasonality, organoleptic quality (appearance, taste, ripeness), and hygiene regulations.** · Inventory management using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) system to minimize losses. **Responsibilities:** · Sourcing the best price and quality options in the wholesale market. · Continuous monitoring and updating of prices. · Order tracking and warehouse/store stock replenishment. · Conducting price monitoring and updates. · Focus on ensuring freshness, quality, and consistent supply at the most competitive price possible. · Ability to negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and payment terms with local and external suppliers. · Proactive identification of producers and suppliers in the field to ensure optimal price-quality ratio. · Supplier prospecting, evaluation, and follow-up. **We Offer:** · **Base salary: $18,000 MXN per month (gross)** · Grocery vouchers: 10% · Savings fund: 8% · Savings account · Birthday bonus · Life insurance Working hours: Monday to Saturday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
