**Workshop Assistant** UVM is looking for your talent for the position of Workshop Assistant. Position Objective: Coordinate and ensure the proper functioning and operation of centers, laboratories, and workshops, as well as manage the various functions of the area and supervise proper service delivery by the department and its personnel to all internal and external individuals requiring it. Functions and Activities: o Conduct inventory of equipment, machinery, consumables, and tools in each workshop or laboratory in coordination with the fixed assets department. o Advise the university community on the proper use of various equipment within the laboratory according to applicable regulations. o Ensure the availability of appropriate supplies necessary for the effective development of practical learning environments. o Request preventive maintenance for laboratory equipment to guarantee functionality during practices and to meet the needs of the UVM community. o Safeguard facilities and equipment by verifying their appropriate use. o Manage the loan of facilities, equipment, and tools for curricular and extracurricular activities. o Ensure proper use of the electronic logbook as defined by the Educational Technology Departments and generate monthly, semester/quarterly usage statistics for each workshop and laboratory under their responsibility to design management improvements. o Participate in specialized update and training programs for each facility together with the program coordinator for faculty and staff in charge of the facilities to enhance utilization levels. Requirements: Completed or incomplete bachelor's degree. Experience managing laboratories. General knowledge of glassware and laboratory equipment. Basic knowledge of tools. Mechanical aptitude.
