Request ID: 24075 Job Category: Manufacturing Career Level: Entry Level Contract Type: Permanent Location: Zapopan, MX **Process Technician – SKF Zapopan** ==================================== **Job Purpose** ------------------------ The **Process Technician** is responsible for ensuring efficient, stable, and safe operation of production processes at the SKF Zapopan plant. Provides technical support to production, performs process adjustments and improvements, manages critical parameters, responds to incidents, collaborates on problem resolution, and contributes to continuous improvement to ensure quality, productivity, and compliance with SKF standards. **Main Responsibilities** --------------------------------- * Monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure stability and compliance with specifications. * Provide technical support to operators and supervisors during startup, changeovers, and daily operations. * Respond to process failures and collaborate with Maintenance to minimize downtime. * Document deviations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions. * Execute continuous improvement activities (Lean, Kaizen, 5S). * Ensure compliance with SKF quality standards (dimensions, appearance, tolerances, scrap, rework). * Conduct process tests, validations, and sampling per procedures. * Participate in new product introductions, engineering adjustments, or process changes. * Support internal and external process audits. * Keep SOPs, parameters, work instructions, and logbooks up to date. * Train operators on technical aspects of the process. **Requirements** -------------- ### **Education** * Technician or Technologist degree in Manufacturing Processes, Electromechanics, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field. * Core engineering degrees (Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics) preferred. ### **Experience** * 2+ years of experience in technical roles within manufacturing. * Experience in process control, critical parameters, scrap, and failure analysis. * Experience in metalworking or automotive industry preferred. ### **Technical Knowledge** * Knowledge of manufacturing processes and troubleshooting tools. * Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical specifications. * Basic knowledge of autonomous maintenance. * Proficiency with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, comparators, etc.). * Analytical methods: 5 Whys, Ishikawa, AME. * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (5S, standardization, continuous improvement). ### **Competencies** * Results-oriented * Problem solving * Attention to detail * Collaborative work with Production, Maintenance, and Quality * Technical analysis * Effective communication **Work Schedule** ----------- * Availability to work rotating shifts (as required by SKF Zapopan operations). **Role Objectives** --------------------- * Reduce scrap and rework. * Maintain stable processes within specified parameters. * Improve operational efficiency and cycle times. * Provide technical support enabling uninterrupted production.
