




**Position:** Electrical Maintenance Technician. **Position Objective:** * Responsible for ensuring the continuous and safe operation of the data center’s electrical infrastructure. This includes operation, maintenance, repair, and monitoring of critical electrical systems, such as UPS, generators, power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supply systems, and electrical backup systems. The technician must ensure maximum availability and reliability of the electrical infrastructure, minimizing service downtime. **Key Responsibilities:** * + Regularly inspect and verify the condition of electrical equipment to ensure proper operation and prevent failures. + Use monitoring tools to supervise the performance of electrical systems, including electrical load, power quality, and status of backup systems. + Identify and resolve issues before they affect data center operations. + Ensure proper operation of **UPS** and backup systems, guaranteeing they can support the data center’s load during failures of the primary power supply. + Conduct periodic tests of backup systems, including generators and batteries. + Manage and test electrical generators to ensure they start up reliably when required. + Verify and maintain automatic transfer switch systems to ensure seamless switching between primary power supply and backup generators. + Maintain power distribution units (PDUs) supplying server racks, ensuring reliable and stable power delivery to data center equipment. + Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with electrical safety regulations and internal data center policies. + Respond rapidly to electrical failures and emergency situations, following established procedures to minimize downtime. + Collaborate with the data center operations team to coordinate prompt and effective responses during power interruptions. + Interpret complex electrical schematics and diagrams to correctly identify circuits and systems, and perform repairs or modifications as needed. + Document all maintenance, repair, and adjustment activities on electrical systems in detailed reports, ensuring a complete infrastructure history. + Provide recommendations for improving energy efficiency and electrical system reliability. + Work with external vendors to coordinate specialized maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of electrical systems, ensuring regulatory compliance. + Monitor and maintain **precision air conditioning (HVAC)** systems, controlling data center temperature and humidity to prevent equipment overheating. + Perform adjustments and repairs on climate control systems, ensuring a stable environment for hardware. **Competencies:** * + Education: Completed Technical Degree in Electronics or Electromechanics; degree mandatory. + Knowledge of Medium Voltage systems. + Knowledge of Diesel Generators. + Knowledge of High-Capacity UPS systems. + Knowledge of precision climate control equipment. + Knowledge of FM200 fire suppression systems. + Knowledge of structured cabling. + Experience operating UPS, air conditioning systems, fire suppression systems, electrical substations, grounding systems, rectifiers, and transformers. + Experience in electrical maintenance. + Basic experience in data centers.
