Their primary mission is to guarantee that systems and barriers meet applicable regulatory, technical, and corporate standards, providing expert materials engineering support for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in materials integrity, material selection for severe environments, development of specifications, and technical support to contractors—actively contributing to asset safety, efficiency, and reliability throughout their lifecycle. ### **Key Responsibilities and Functions:** * Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory/corporate requirements. * Describe and oversee the technical integrity of relevant systems/barriers. * Provide and update project design basis information as required. * Provide guidance for safe and efficient operations throughout the facility’s lifetime, including establishing and monitoring performance requirements for barriers. * Special focus and responsibility on contractor material selection oversight and materials specification development. * Provide input to tendering processes (SoW, project requirements, etc.) and support tender clarification and evaluation up to RFA. * Implement and monitor the design verification process. * Contribute to project risk workshops and track risk-related engineering actions. * Mitigation measures. * Contribute to change management processes, development of operating plans, philosophies, procedures, manuals, etc. * Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, and other HSE-related reviews. * Identify and track TQP and qualifications as required. * Provide input for schedule planning and cost estimation, with particular attention to material delivery and LLI. * Contribute to and prepare relevant sections of decision-support packages. * Ensure lessons learned from previous projects and ongoing activities are captured and addressed. REQUIREMENTS ### **Requirements:** * Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. * Minimum 10 years of experience in materials engineering within the energy, oil & gas industry. * Knowledge and understanding of applicable regulatory/corporate requirements and relevant international standards. * Understanding of offshore platform and subsea pipeline projects across all phases. * In-depth knowledge of material evaluation and selection, including welding standards and methods. * In-depth understanding of corrosion mechanisms and corrosion assessment. * Experience with local and international regulatory frameworks. * Experience in design and fabrication of marine and subsea structures. * Advanced English (spoken and written).
