Summary: The Senior Primary Substation Engineer will lead an engineering team and develop primary engineering designs for high voltage projects like Flexible AC transmission systems, STATCOMS, and SynCons for North America. Support Marketing and Project teams in project execution. **A Snapshot of Your Day** In the department of Engineering, we are responsible for technical design of high voltage projects like Flexible AC transmission systems as STATCOMS and SynCons for North America. Senior Primary substation engineer is responsible for supervising and leading an engineering team besides he will also develop primary engineering design. **How You’ll Make an Impact** * Develop project design criteria for substations/switchyards (development of main one line and station auxiliary one\-line diagrams, general arrangement, layout and elevation drawings, trench and conduit design and grounding drawings). * Supporting 3D Design for Proposals and conceptual designs for pricing purposes. Perform electrical engineering design and calculations. * Perform cable ampacity, grounding, lightning, illumination and station auxiliary load calculations. * Create equipment specifications and detail bill of materials. * Develop Conceptual Layouts for HVDC and SVC. * Support Marketing and Project teams in the execution of a project and in customer meetings, ensures that the engineering deliverables meet the target schedule dates, inform the Project Manager of possible delays or risk in the particular project. **What You Bring** * University Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering * 6 or more years of experience with a focus on primary electrical design for high voltage substations. * Knowledge of ANSI standards, IEC standards knowledge is a plus. * Familiar with Auto\-CAD, Micro\-Station and REVIT. * Fluent English Language, Good communication skills, teamwork and self\-driven **Who is Siemens Energy?** At Siemens Energy, we are more than just an energy technology company.
