We seek a **Database Specialist / Database Engineer (DBA)** with experience in Microsoft SQL Server, including database administration, performance tuning, and high availability. Capable of administering, optimizing, securing, and maintaining databases in mission-critical production environments. Experience in performance diagnostics, query tuning, logical and physical database design, high availability, backups, disaster recovery, and operational task automation. Recommended experience level: 3 to 5 years of hands-on SQL Server administration experience, or less time with solid production experience and proven ability to resolve complex incidents. Key technical skills: * Administration of on-premise SQL Server and, if possible, Azure SQL. * Database design and maintenance. * Indexing, query optimization, and execution plan analysis. * Backups, restores, DRP, and operational continuity. * Replication, Always On, clustering, and high availability. * Performance monitoring, blocking, deadlocks, and resource contention. * Security: roles, permissions, auditing, and encryption. * Automation using T-SQL, SQL Agent, and PowerShell. Recommended tools: * SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) * SQL Server Agent * Extended Events * Performance Monitor * Query Store * Activity Monitor * Azure Data Studio * PowerShell * Monitoring tools such as Redgate, SentryOne, SolarWinds, or similar Responsibilities: * Ensure database availability and stability. * Detect and resolve slowness issues. * Implement backup and recovery policies. * Manage security and access controls. * Optimize CPU, memory, I/O, and storage consumption. * Document architecture, procedures, and changes. * Support development and applications in query analysis.
