Smith is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with approximately 12,000 employees at operations in the United States, Canada, China, India, Mexico, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. **Main Function** Ensure the quality of products and processes with a focus on the internal and external Customer by identifying problems and risks to establish plans to solve or mitigate them, in accordance with the established process complying with the Safety, Health and Environment Management System and the Internal Work Regulations (RIT). **Essential Roles and Responsibilities*** Ensure that products and processes are carried out in accordance with the established control plans, as well as the documented requirements of the Quality Management System. * Use basic quality tools to measure and analyze the performance of applicable KPI’s and metrics. * Solve problems and improve processes using problem\-solving tools such as 8\-step PSFC, 8D, 5\-phase, PDCA, DMAIC, etc. * Use statistical tools to measure, analyze, improve and control processes, such as SPC, Process Capability Studies, MSA (GR\&R). * Develop documented process control plans and actively participate in the development and revisions of PFMEA's. * Manage customer complaints including complaint registration, documentation of the evaluation of returned product samples (when available), and establishment and documentation of corrective actions. * Participate in projects of the AOS NPD system representing the Quality function. * Responsible for approving design engineering change processes (PCP's), as well as the resulting PPAP's (when applicable) in NPD and Sustainment Engineering projects. * Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives such as Gemba, Kaizen, PSFC, etc., and lead quality projects. **Requirements*** Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. * Certification as a Quality Engineer (CQE ASQ) or Six\-Sigma Black or Green belt (SSBB, SSGB) is desired. * Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position. * English: ability to read / write and understand basic communication. * Software knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, SAP, EC, TRESS). * Knowledge and application of the ISO 9001:2015 standard. * Experience with analysis and problem\-solving methodology (DMAIC, 8D, 5F, 5W, Ishikawa), statistical and quality tools (SPC). * Demonstrates ethical conduct, emotional self‑management, and clear, respectful communication (both verbal and written) grounded in integrity and respect for others.
