




Job Summary: Prepare and cook food, maintain cleanliness, and ensure food safety according to established procedures and manuals. Key Responsibilities: 1. Active participation in food preparation and cooking. 2. Maintenance of cleanliness and food safety standards. 3. Assistance in diet delivery and patient care. General Objective: Prepare preliminary food items and support food production, as well as maintain cleanliness, in accordance with procedures and manuals to ensure food safety. Job Responsibilities: * Comply with established procedures, activities, and policies. * Anticipate preparation of preliminary items or required production for food preparation. * Prepare food ensuring proper handling and guaranteeing its safety. * Assemble patient meal trays according to the established plating guide. * Perform and maintain general cleaning and disinfection of the area and equipment. * Record food and process temperatures on established forms. * Follow proper food handling practices for patient diets, cafeteria orders, and physician meals. * Prepare dishes according to instructions from the Nutrition Department Head and supervisor, ensuring correct presentation per the dish guide or prior instructions. * Place patient diets onto their respective trays, correctly identifying patient information on the identification card. * Report equipment or facility malfunctions to the supervisor or maintenance department for repair. * Assist in maintaining order and cleanliness in medical areas related to food (in units where no waiter position exists). * Deliver and collect trays from patient rooms, physician lounges, or special requests. * Deliver patient snacks to the Emergency Department. * Properly organize and clean storage areas, refrigerated equipment, and kitchen facilities, applying the FEFO (First Expired, First Out) system. * Properly wash and disinfect fruits and vegetables, storing them in designated locations. * Comply with international patient safety goals: 1) Correct patient identification; 2) Verbal and telephone orders; 5) Hand hygiene. * Promptly address and resolve any adverse events that occur. * Follow departmental objectives, policies, and work procedures. * Adhere to food hygiene standards as stipulated by applicable regulations. * Attend training courses determined by the hospital. * Actively participate in drills, emergency codes, Facility Safety System brigades, and scheduled drills. * Participate in Patient Safety training. * Perform all functions inherent to the scope of this position.
