JOB SUMMARY Materials SME I is responsible for driving standard work and continuous improvement in the processes, systems, and material functional talent development. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead as Site Subject Matter Expert in one or multiple standard Materials (Planning, Purchasing, Inventory Control, etc.) processes. * Lead as Site Subject Matter Expert in one or multiple standardized Materials systems and applications. * Coach, mentor, and provide training to the materials team and create a learning environment. * Monitor key Materials metrics for assigned customer(s) and sites. * Support and/or maintain all lower-level materials team essential duties and responsibilities. * Perform regular internal audits to ensure materials operations remain under control. * Drive standardization, simplification, and optimization of materials processes and systems through the continuous improvement cycle. * Communicate, consult, and inform site best practices—with supporting data—to Regional and Global materials teams. * Materials Improvement Project Leader for medium-complexity, cross-functional projects at the site level. o Diagnose and identify process and system gaps versus best-in-class operations by applying expertise in specific areas. o Collaborate with stakeholders to define the project framework and tangible goals. o Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize improvement projects aimed at enhancing existing business processes/systems. o Map the 'as-is' process with appropriate granularity and brainstorm with stakeholders and the system solution team to define the desired future process. o Lead the project team in submitting business requirement documentation. o Define and track project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and manage work within scope, quality, time, and cost constraints. o Collaborate with stakeholders and the IT solution team to define test plans incorporating well-evaluated business scenarios in relevant functional areas. o Conduct project risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation measures jointly with the project team. o Actively manage all levels of stakeholders through an appropriate communication plan and perform timely escalations to the next management level when necessary. o Forecast project budget and staffing needs. o Actively track project progress and provide timely updates. o Be accountable for overall project success—including cost, schedule, quality, and scope management. o Identify project buyoff criteria. o Work with the project team to develop training plans, training materials, and deliver necessary training sessions to ensure end-user awareness and readiness for change. o Coordinate other validation activities required by the project. * Support the Lean organization by developing a solid process foundation and ensuring data integrity to enable organization-wide process improvement. * Comply with and follow all procedures outlined in the company’s security policy. * May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS * Key Requirements: o Understand Materials standards, procedures, systems, and work methodologies. o Understanding and application of a broad range of materials-related systems and technologies. o Understanding of JOS and Quality Systems applied to internal manufacturing processes—and how they interconnect with materials processes and systems. o Understanding of Jabil’s global strategies and direction. o Proven record of successful change management accomplishments, implementing and managing continuous improvement and cost reduction programs. * Strong communication skills. * Ability to work under pressure and manage conflict effectively. * Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of Jabil’s software packages. * Proficient verbal and written English skills. * Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety standards & requirements. * Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project is required.
