Position Summary
The Operations Director (COO) will be responsible for directing, controlling, and optimizing the company's production plant. Primary focus will be ensuring production efficiency, excellence in supply chain management, strict regulatory and environmental compliance, product quality, and strategic management of operational and logistics talent, guaranteeing optimal national dispatch and distribution.
General Information
* **Location:** Plant in Jiutepec, Morelos.
* **Schedule:** Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday half-day.
* **Industry:** Agrochemicals (pesticides, bioinputs, and plant nutrition) \| **Open to candidates from related industries (Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Food, Nutritional Supplements, and High-Volume Process Plants).**
* **Reports to:** Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
* **Key Role:** Active member of the Executive Committee.
Main Responsibilities
* **Manufacturing Leadership:** Strategically and operationally lead all plant manufacturing processes (formulation, mixing, synthesis, and/or packaging).
* **End\-to\-End Supply Chain:** Comprehensively manage the entire supply chain—from raw material procurement and inventory management to finished product distribution logistics.
* **Demand Planning:** Develop and implement a robust demand planning framework that balances optimal inventory levels with timely fulfillment of customer orders.
* **Regulatory Compliance and Safety:** Ensure strict compliance with applicable health, food safety, environmental, and occupational safety regulations (STPS, COFEPRIS, SEMARNAT or equivalents), including current regulations governing transportation and handling of regulated or hazardous materials and inputs.
* **Continuous Improvement and Efficiency:** Design and execute continuous improvement strategies targeting cost optimization, productivity enhancement, and reduction of delivery lead times.
* **Talent Management:** Ensure optimal administration and development of personnel across production, warehousing, and logistics areas, coordinating operational efforts synergistically with the Human Resources department.
* **Technological Innovation (AI):** Design the framework and integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) methodologies applied to business optimization and automation of processes under their responsibility.
* **Business Vision:** Actively participate in the Executive Committee to develop corporate growth, expansion, and scalability strategies for production capacity.
Required Profile (Non\-Negotiable Requirements)
* **Education:** Completed Bachelor’s degree or Engineering (**Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering, or related field**). Mandatory and non\-negotiable requirement.
* **Languages:** Advanced proficiency in **English (100% spoken and written)** for international negotiations and reporting. Mandatory and non\-negotiable requirement.
* **Sector Experience:** Minimum 10 years’ experience in **high\-volume process plants, formulation facilities, or production facilities**, within the following industries: **Chemical, Agrochemical, Pharmaceutical, Food, Specialty Foods, Nutritional Supplements / Premium Food Industry, or similar sectors.** Mandatory requirement.
* **Leadership Experience:** At least 5 years in senior leadership or corporate plant operations director roles.
* **Technical Experience:** Proven track record in manufacturing operations, supply chain, strict regulatory compliance, and safe handling of chemical or regulated materials/inputs.
Required Technical Knowledge
* Logical and practical understanding of industrial processes, reactions, or mixing (organic/inorganic chemistry, dosing or formulation processes).
* In-depth experience in high\-precision formulation, mixing, or packaging processes.
* Advanced knowledge of health, environmental, food safety, and occupational safety regulations (Integrated Management Systems).
* Proficiency in quality management systems and regulatory standards (**ISO, Good Manufacturing Practices \- GMP**).
* Demand planning and inventory control models.
* Expert-level use of enterprise ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
