We’re looking for people who think big, act fearlessly, and create an inclusive environment that drives positive impact to join our team. **What you'll do** Voice services are a key part of Viasat’s product portfolio including Voice services for Fleet Express, Fleet Broadband, Global Satellite Phone Service and as well as Maritime and Aero Voice Safety Services. Maintaining high service availability is essential. The post holder will work within a geographically diverse team who are responsible for all Viasat’s customer Voice Services focusing on operating the Voice network. This will include, troubleshooting network and customer issues, monitoring the Voice network and services, and driving evolution to a DevOps environment. Leading life cycle management activities \- performing upgrades, deploying VNFs, integration, testing and migrations \- as well as introduction of new services and network evolution. **The day\-to\-day** * The successful candidate is expected to contribute in the following areas: * Investigate and resolve escalated Customer Voice Cases/Tasks * Respond to and resolve Voice network operational Incidents * Perform network configuration changes adhering to the change control process * Lead software upgrades, migrations etc of network nodes * Assist in monitoring network performance management, and evolution of automation to achieve a full DevOps environment * Deploy, integrate and test new VNFs in private cloud (Openstack) and Public Cloud environments (AWS) * Lead introduction of new services **What you'll need** * Degree level or equivalent in Computing Science, Engineering, Telecommunications or related technical discipline * 5\+ year history of working in relevant communications, network infrastructure environment * Comprehensive understanding of 2G and 3G Circuit Switched Mobile Core Networks and associated protocols RANAP, BSSAP, MAP, CAMEL, SMPP, ISUP etc. * Preferably a knowledge of Ericsson Circuit Switched Core Network products UDC, MSC, MGw and MiO * Comprehensive understanding of VoIP/SIP * Preferably experience with VoIP solutions such as Metaswitch CFS, Perimeta and Opensource Kamailio and Asterisk * Preferably a knowledge of Openstack and AWS including VNF deployment * Preferably a knowledge Python, Linux/bash scripting * Basic knowledge of networking technology including routers, switches, and firewalls * To participate in 24/7 emergency on call support rota **What will help you on the job** * Willingness and ability to work in a complex, international matrix organisation * Ability to communicate fully, clearly, and effectively, both orally and in writing, with leadership and teammates * Excellent administrative and organisational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy, together with the ability to manage simultaneous projects * Ability to take initiative and adapt to changing priorities in a fast\-paced corporate environment. * Ability to consistently meet deadlines **EEO Statement** Viasat is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, seeking to create a welcoming and diverse environment.
