Position Profile: Blacksmith / Forging Operator 1. Objective Summary Transform metals (iron, steel, aluminum) through cutting, forging, welding, and assembly processes to produce structures, tools, or ornamental parts, ensuring technical precision and structural integrity according to drawings or specifications. 2. Functions and Responsibilities * **Reading and interpretation:** Analyze blueprints, schematics, or sketches to determine required dimensions and materials. * **Material preparation:** Cut, bend, and shape metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery. * **Welding and joining:** Apply various techniques (MIG, TIG, electrode, oxyacetylene) to permanently join metal components. * **Heat treatment:** Heat metals in a forge or with a torch for shaping, and perform hardening processes to adjust hardness. * **Finishing and detailing:** Polish, grind, and apply anti-corrosive treatments or paints to finished parts. * **Maintenance:** Perform preventive maintenance on workshop tools and machinery. 3.
