**PURPOSES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** * Manage the implementation, assessment, and monitoring of actions within the continuous improvement system. * Develop and deliver training on the continuous improvement system. * Support the creation and/or modification of processes and documents to optimize productivity and/or generate savings. * Interact with all areas and levels to drive initiatives that contribute to achieving financial, operational, and strategic objectives. * Provide support during internal and external audits. * Implement activities related to site certifications (IATF, ISO 22000, RC14001, etc.). **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:** **To successfully hold this position, the employee must be capable of performing each purpose/responsibility satisfactorily.** * **Education:** Chemical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields (Mandatory). * **Experience:** ✔ 2 years in the chemical and/or plastics manufacturing industry (Mandatory). ✔ Experience in continuous improvement projects and/or implementation (Mandatory). * **Languages:** Intermediate English (Mandatory). * **Technical Competencies:** Proficiency in Office suite, Minitab / Minitab Engage, VISIO (Optional), Thinkcell, graphic design platforms, quality management system software. * **Technical Competencies:** Manufacturing transformation processes, continuous improvement methodologies and project management (DMAIC, PDCA, KAIZEN, 6S, POKAYOKE, etc.), statistical analysis. . **Essential Duties & Responsibilities** * Lead and participate in cross-functional project teams within operations and supply chain. Project examples include inventory deployment optimization, global category negotiation strategies, reduction of slow moving/ nonworking inventory, predictive and preventative maintenance implementation, and demand forecasting and supply fulfillment. * Make recommendations to Management based on business case, leading best practices, and analysis. * Assist in the creation of world class internal processes in areas such as strategic supplier management, contract management, operations and operations planning, and manufacturing efficiency. * Interface with Operational Excellence and all areas of the global business units to insure improvements are implemented and sustained. * Identify and develop key operational excellence metrics and measures to facilitate performance improvements. * Interact with Senior Management, have exposure to the Company's most critical initiatives, build relationships with other high potential employees across the globe and make a difference in Avient's future success. * Gain an understanding of the various Avient businesses from a financial, operational and strategic standpoint. This position is intended to be a stepping stone for a future key leadership role within the organization. **Physical/Environmental Demands** Requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods of time, talking and listening. Must be able to walk and use hands. Typically work is in an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate.
