* Maintain and repair welding equipment, interpret drawings and specifications, conduct quality inspections, operate welding tools, and test welded structures to detect defects. Ensure timely and proper production of parts. * Assemble, repair, and maintain metal structures using specialized tools. * Interpretation of technical drawings and specifications: The welder must be able to read and interpret technical drawings and diagrams to clearly understand how parts should be joined and what project requirements are. Accurate interpretation of these documents is critical, as any error at this stage may lead to structural problems or failures in the final product. * Surface preparation for welding: Prior to any welding, metal surfaces must be properly prepared. This includes cleaning, grinding, cutting, or adjusting parts to ensure welding is performed correctly and with maximum adhesion between materials. Without proper preparation, the joint risks lacking durability or strength. * Performing welds: The welder uses various techniques—such as MIG, TIG, or oxyacetylene welding—to safely and precisely join metal parts. This is the core of a welder’s work, and the quality of execution determines the final product’s durability and safety. * Inspection and testing of welds: Once welds are completed, visual inspection is essential, and in some cases, non-destructive testing—such as ultrasonic or X-ray testing—is required to ensure no cracks or defects exist. This inspection is vital to maintaining quality standards.
