Create 3D models and shop drawings using industry-leading software **Location:** Remote (Latin America preferred) **Compensation:** $3,000 – $2,000 USD per month depending on experience **Schedule:** Full\-time with U.S. time zone overlap **Job Overview** We are hiring an experienced **Structural Steel Estimator / Detailer** to support a U.S. steel fabrication company working on **custom residential and architectural steel projects**. This role requires someone who has **already performed structural steel estimating and detailing** and can **start contributing immediately without training**. The ideal candidate has experience working with **U.S. construction drawings and steel fabrication projects**. **Key Responsibilities** Estimating \& Takeoffs * Perform **accurate quantity takeoffs** from structural and architectural drawings * Quantify: * Wide flange beams * HSS members * Channels and angles * Plates and embeds * Stairs and miscellaneous metals * Roofing components * Categorize project scope into: * Structural steel * Architectural steel * Miscellaneous metals * Roofing * Build cost estimates including labor, materials, and erection considerations * Identify scope gaps or design ambiguities Steel Detailing * Create **3D models and shop drawings** using Tekla Structures, SDS2, or similar software * Produce fabrication\-ready drawings for: * Beams and columns * HSS members * Base plates and embeds * Stairs, rails, and miscellaneous metals * Architectural exposed steel * Generate material lists and CNC\-ready files * Coordinate drawing releases with fabrication schedules Coordination * Interpret structural and architectural drawings * Submit RFIs when drawings contain missing information * Coordinate with project managers and fabrication teams * Ensure estimates and drawings align with fabrication and field requirements **Requirements** * **3\+ years experience in structural steel estimating or detailing** * Experience working on **U.S. construction or fabrication projects** * Experience with **structural steel, architectural steel, and roofing estimating** * Strong ability to read **structural and architectural drawings** * Experience with **Tekla Structures, SDS2, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar tools** * Strong Excel skills * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Professional English communication skills **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience with **architecturally exposed structural steel (AESS)** * Civil engineering or structural drafting background * Experience coordinating directly with fabrication shops **Application Requirements** To be considered, candidates must provide: * A **sample steel estimate or takeoff** * A **sample detailing or shop drawing project** * A brief description of **projects you have worked on** Candidates without relevant experience in **structural steel estimating or detailing will not be considered.** Job Type: Full\-time Pay: $35,000\.00 \- $60,000\.00 per month Experience: * estimating structural steel projects: 3 years (Required) * U.S. construction drawings or projects?: 2 years (Required) Language: * English (Required)
