




***Facilities Technician*** **POSITION SUMMARY:** Performs basic inspections, repairs, installations, and maintenance of building infrastructure and systems related to electricity, plumbing, air conditioning, and aesthetic building details. Responsibilities also include furniture reconfiguration and assembly of workstations. When required, performs data capture activities and is capable of reading basic blueprints. This position requires knowledge of applicable safety procedures and measures in all areas requiring intervention, as well as common sense, best practices, and standard procedures within the facilities and/or building operations field. Work instructions or departmental guidelines are pre-established. This position requires immediate and direct supervision. Core functions do not require decision-making. **CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:** * Performs repairs, inspections, installations, and maintenance of building systems related to electricity, plumbing, and air conditioning. * Work area includes all interior spaces (Production, offices, meeting rooms, etc.) as well as exterior areas (courtyards, parking lots, gardens, roof of the facility, etc.). * Assembles and reconfigures furniture and workstations. * Highly customer- and facility-user satisfaction-oriented. * Capable of operating scissor lifts and articulating boom lifts, and working at heights—always adhering to safety procedures. * Understands the function and operation of fire extinguishers and fire hydrants within the fire protection system. * Requests necessary parts and supplies to complete maintenance projects. * Performs general building maintenance tasks, such as: locksmithing, mounting whiteboards, wall patching and painting, minor floor repairs. * Operates various hand and power tools. * Capable of lifting objects, always following Safety procedures. * Ability to work in awkward positions, bending or stooping, sometimes in confined spaces. * Performs other tasks assigned by Supervisor. * Interacts with Contractors when directed by Supervisor. * AutoCAD knowledge is a plus. **WORKING CONDITIONS** * Location: Plant in Mexicali, Baja California * Duties are performed both indoors and outdoors—in manufacturing areas, courtyards, parking lots, gardens, and building roofs. Occasionally, outdoor conditions may include heat, rain, or cold. * Physical requirements: lifting, carrying, standing for extended periods, working at heights using lifts and/or ladders, etc. * Occasional overtime work may be required during evenings or weekends. **SKILLS AND/OR REQUIREMENTS:** * Basic knowledge in at least one construction trade: electricity, plumbing, or air conditioning. * Ability to diagnose failures or identify problems. * General knowledge of maintenance practices. * Strong verbal communication skills. * Strong written communication skills (desirable) * Ability to read blueprints (desirable) * DC-3 certification for work at heights (desirable) * Good physical health **EXPERIENCE:** **Minimum:** * 1–3 years of experience in at least one construction trade: electricity, plumbing, or air conditioning. **Desirable:** * 1–3 years of experience as a Facilities or Building Technician **EDUCATION:** High school diploma, technical degree, or equivalent.
