Administer Linux and Windows Server operating systems **Server and Data Center Administrator** An industrial-sector company is seeking a **Server and Data Center Administrator** to join its Systems Department. **Location:** Cerrada de la Princesa 4, Parque Industrial El Marqués, Querétaro, C.P. 76246 **Work Mode:** On-site with availability to travel **Schedule:** 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. \| Rotating shift \+ weekend on-call duties Position Objective Administer, plan, and control all activities related to Data Center operations, ensuring availability, continuity, and proper functioning of physical and virtual infrastructure. Serve as the key liaison with vendors for server intake, release, and maintenance. Main Responsibilities **Data Center Administration** * Manage server intake and release with the Data Center vendor. * Ensure optimal operation of hosted servers and equipment. * Supervise daily operations to guarantee availability and security. **Infrastructure and Server Management** * Resolve technical incidents and problems on servers. * Deploy new servers and infrastructure according to active projects. * Perform preventive and corrective maintenance. * Supervise hardware replacements or failures together with vendors. **Virtualization and Systems** * Create and administer virtual machines on RHEV, KVM, OVM, Hyper\-V, and Nutanix. * Administer Linux (RedHat) and Windows Server operating systems. * Assess critical hardware failures and make immediate decisions. **Inventory, Control, and Security** * Maintain an updated CMDB with the server inventory. * Verify Data Center access per security protocols. * Track projects involving new infrastructure deployment. Requirements **Education** * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. * Degree required. **Experience** * Minimum 4 years as a Systems Administrator, Data Center Administrator, or in physical and virtual infrastructure management. **Technical Knowledge** * Infrastructure and Data Center administration. * RedHat and Windows Server. * Virtualization platforms: RHEV, KVM, OVM, Hyper\-V, Nutanix. * Server and communications equipment hardware administration. * Inventory and CMDB management. Competencies * Strong management and problem-solving ability. * Efficient response to critical incidents. * Ability to work under pressure and in emergency situations. * Effective communication with vendors and internal teams. * Focus on operational continuity and control.
