Because why not do it all? **Responsibilities and Activities** ----------------------------------- * Reports directly to the Laboratory Supervisor. * Fabricates hose assemblies for testing per ISO, customer, or applicable Gates proprietary specifications. * Supports engineers working on new developments, projects, processes, and testing. Prepares reports, provides status updates on process progress, and prepares products for testing. * Responsible for maintaining test assembly inventory levels to ensure full equipment utilization and maximize equipment OEE. * Responsible for loading test assemblies onto equipment as required. * Supports the Rubber Raw Material and/or Hose area with test equipment, as well as failure analysis activities on samples that failed during testing or construction. * Supervises sample changes and assembly verification. Configures/adjusts controls, sets up and operates data acquisition systems. Monitors ongoing tests, collects data, and reports results using precision manual measurement instruments. * Responsible for ensuring equipment is maintained per Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) processes and procedures within laboratories and facilities. **Requirements and Skills** ------------------------------- * 5–7 years of hands-on engineering experience. * Bachelor’s degree not required. * Practical knowledge of cutters, crimpers, hand tools, and measuring tools. * Ability to fabricate per standard specifications meeting test requirements. * Good practical knowledge of laboratory testing procedures. * Good practical knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical principles. * Good practical knowledge of Bimal test equipment or willingness to learn. * In most situations, will communicate directly with the Engineering department regarding test-related information. * Analyzes and resolves issues related to test equipment and/or procedures. * Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, etc.). * Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. * Solid planning, time management, and organizational skills. **Work Environment** ----------------------- * Noise level in the manufacturing work environment may range from moderate to high; hearing protection is required in designated areas. * Safety glasses are required in all production areas. * Safety shoes are required in all production areas. * PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is mandatory in all designated areas. **WHY GATES?** Founded in 1911 in Denver, Colorado, Gates is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
