Job Description We are seeking a **Fiber Optic Splicer Technician** with experience in construction, implementation, and maintenance of optical fiber networks. The person in this position will be responsible for performing splices, measurements, network maintenance, and incident response, ensuring service continuity and proper operation of telecommunications infrastructure. **Requirements** * Minimum education: **Completed secondary school**. * Minimum **2 years’ experience in optical fiber networks**. * Experience in: * Optical fiber splicing * Use of **OTDR** * Handling of **Corning brand 2178 series splice closures** * Installation and maintenance of optical fiber networks * Knowledge of **working at heights** and use of **PPE**. * Valid **driver’s license**. * Availability for **24/7 emergency response**. **Responsibilities** * Perform **optical fiber splicing** and measurements using equipment such as **OTDR**. * Carry out activities related to **installation, construction, and maintenance of optical fiber networks**. * Respond to **emergent events**, such as optical fiber cuts. * Conduct **network inspection tours** to identify risks and implement corrective actions. * Execute **scheduled corrective maintenance** during maintenance windows. * Perform assembly and installation of **new optical fiber lines**. * Integrate **new customers into the network**. * Prepare **daily activity reports and network construction reports**. * Manage **inventory of materials, equipment, and tools**. * Prepare requisitions for materials required for field activities.
