




Position Summary: Supervise and monitor trapping and diagnostic activities for the fly C. hominivorax to prevent the spread of cattle screwworm. Key Responsibilities: 1. Contribute to the detection and monitoring of the fly C. hominivorax. 2. Provide guidance on the fabrication and installation of traps. 3. Prepare weekly reports on the progress of the Work Plan. **JOB DESCRIPTION:** Supervise trapping and diagnostic activities for the fly *Chochliomya hominivorax* as part of the epidemiological surveillance strategy, with the aim of contributing to early monitoring and detection of cattle screwworm (CSW) to prevent its spread and support containment in affected or at-risk areas. **JOB REQUIREMENTS:** 1. Hold a university degree in veterinary medicine or veterinary zootechnics, agricultural sciences, or related fields. 2. Two (2) years of experience in similar positions. **FUNCTIONS:** 1. Contribute to implementing the Work Plan to detect and monitor the population of the fly *C. hominivorax.* 2. Provide guidance on fabricating traps for detecting and controlling the fly *Cochliomyia hominivorax*. 3. Identify and establish field routes for trap installation to enable detection and monitoring of the fly *C. hominivorax* population. 4. Supervise trap installation and monitoring for detecting and controlling the fly *Cochliomyia hominivorax*. 5. Verify trap maintenance to ensure proper functioning. 6. Supervise diagnostic activities related to traps for detecting and monitoring the fly *Cochliomyia hominivorax*. 7. Monitor the verification trapping system or other systems established following detection of cattle screwworm cases. 8. Validate data provided by IT professionals, ensuring alignment with activities carried out and outlined in the Work Plan, thereby ensuring reliable information for operational decision-making. 9. Prepare weekly reports to inform the Regional Coordinator of progress in implementing the Work Plan within the designated region.
