POSITION OBJECTIVE** To serve as a liaison among the Foreign Trade, Accounting, and Treasury departments, gathering information to ensure accurate accounting recording of foreign trade operations, timely execution of bank reconciliations, and proper documentation of cash flow. **3. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES** **3.1 Accounting Recordkeeping** * Record revenue, expense, and journal entries related to IMMEX activities * Classify transactions correctly according to the chart of accounts and accounting policies * Maintain updated subsidiary ledgers for accounts receivable and payable related to foreign trade operations * Verify correct application of exchange rates for foreign currency transactions **3.2 Bank Reconciliations** * Identify and document reconciliation items (deposits in transit, outstanding checks, unidentified debits and credits) * Investigate and resolve discrepancies between accounting records and bank statements related to foreign trade activities * Maintain an organized file of bank statements and supporting documentation **3.3 Documentation and Cash Flow** * Collect and organize necessary information for preparing the cash flow statement * Document cash inflows and outflows related to foreign trade operations * Verify that bank movements are supported by complete documentation **3.4 Interdepartmental Liaison** * Coordinate with the Foreign Trade department to obtain customs documentation (customs declarations, commercial invoices, certificates of origin) * Request and follow up on information required by Treasury for international payments and collections * Participate in interdepartmental meetings to align processes and resolve contingencies * Support audits by providing accounting and documentary information **4. REQUIRED PROFILE** **4.1 Academic Qualifications** * Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (graduated or intern) * Courses in Foreign Trade, IMMEX operations, or customs (desirable) * Training in accounting systems and ERP (desirable) **4.2 Work Experience** * Minimum 1 year of experience in similar accounting assistant roles * Demonstrable experience in recording accounting journal entries * Demonstrable experience in performing bank reconciliations * **Experience in IMMEX companies within the manufacturing or maquiladora industry (DESIRABLE)** * Knowledge of foreign trade operations (imports/exports) (DESIRABLE) **4.3 Technical Knowledge** * Solid knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards * Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (Contpaq and SAP) * Intermediate-level Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas) * Basic knowledge of customs operations and customs declarations (desirable) * Knowledge of the IMMEX program and its accounting implications (desirable) **5.
