Description
**Job Objective**
Ensure appropriate medical evaluation of blood donors, guaranteeing compliance with current regulations and transfusion safety criteria, in order to protect the health of both donors and recipients.
**Main Responsibilities**
* Conduct medical evaluation and clinical interview of donors.
* Verify donors' medical history, habits, and risk factors.
* Determine donor eligibility or deferral according to established protocols.
* Supervise the donation process and manage possible adverse reactions.
* Validate documentation and forms related to the transfusion process.
* Ensure compliance with applicable official standards and sanitary guidelines.
* Provide guidance and information to donors regarding the donation process.
* Collaborate with laboratory and nursing staff to ensure proper operation of the blood bank.
* Participate in audits, quality controls, and continuous improvement programs.
* Maintain confidentiality and safeguard the medical information of patients and donors.
**Education**
* Bachelor's degree in Medicine, with professional title and license mandatory.
* Prior experience or knowledge in transfusion medicine, blood banking, or clinical laboratory is desirable.
**Experience**
* Minimum 1 year of experience in hospital settings, blood banks, emergency departments, or general medicine.
* Experience in clinical evaluation and patient/donor care is desirable.
Knowledge
* Regulations applicable to blood banks and transfusion safety.
* Management of clinical records.
* General medical evaluation.
* Hospital safety and hygiene protocols.
* Basic Office software and hospital information systems.
