Key responsibilities include sample preparation and quality control. **Mentory Consulting Group seeks a Microbiology Assistant in Puebla, Puebla** ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Position required: **Microbiology Assistant** Chemist-Pharmacist-Biologist, Chemical Engineer, Food Engineer, Biotechnology Engineer, Biochemist, or related degree. Degree holder or intern. NOM, NMX, ISO, and other applicable standards for the food sector, as well as accredited or authorized microbiological methodologies. Microbiological analysis of food or water within the laboratory’s scope (preferably at signatory level). **Experience:** Minimum 1-year experience in food and/or water chemistry and/or microbiology. Knowledge of regulatory requirements at signatory level. **Skills:** Colony counting, optical microscope, UV lamp, laminar flow hood, peristaltic homogenizer, 4th-room filtration system, vaporizer, incubation oven, autoclave with pressure gauge, hygrometer, automatic dispenser, PCR pipettes, balance, pH meter, Bunsen burner. Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). **Education/Training:** Good Laboratory Practices, Laboratory Safety, Food and Water Safety, Laboratory Equipment Handling, Quality Management System, General Microbiology, Statistical Tools, Record Control, Method Validation. **Attitudes and Values:** Responsibility, punctuality, problem-solving knowledge and confidence, time availability, teamwork, results-oriented, technical credibility, logical reasoning, organization, adaptability to job circumstances. **Functions and Responsibilities:** * Prepares and dilutes food samples for microbiological analysis. * Maintains reference strain controls and assists in monitoring programs designated by the area supervisor. * Assists in preliminary test report entry and maintains logbook records. * Keeps metrological archives up to date. * Reviews service requests, monitors inventory of supplies and materials; verifies disinfectant preparation and evaluation, and reports supply shortages to the supervisor. * Participates in proficiency testing specific to the area once tests are mastered under the supervision of the area supervisor. * Performs culture media recovery tests, toxicity tests, eco-metric tests, growth promotion tests or broths, etc. * Supports monitoring of controls and quality assurance, reporting to the area supervisor.
