We achieve this stature because Bourns employees excel in the development of new products and continuous improvement processes that keep the company a global leader in delivering outstanding service. **Job Description:** **Position Title:** **Designer (DP\-059\-IV)** **Department(s): Engineering** * JOB DESCRIPTION: The product design engineer must be capable of solving current issues on products released to production that still have recurring problems, as well as designing new products under a framework of mechanical and electrical specifications established by customers. * JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: * Creation of documentation for new TNA products upon request of special specifications**.** * Coordinate necessary tests for qualification. * Design or modification of FR4 elements in copper, nickel, and gold. * Preparation of artwork for Thick Film Printing. * Document and process variants and ECOs. * Coordinate samples for customers. * Create component drawings for the new product area. * Modify drawings when changes are required. * Make changes to documents such as TNA, SIS, ISS, Flow Chart, etc., when required. * Apply Lean Manufacturing culture and 5S daily. * POSITION AUTHORITY: * Stop any production or administrative process that could jeopardize the safety of personnel, products, or company assets, including equipment and facilities. * Stop any production process suspected or confirmed to produce products that do not meet our quality standards. * Stop production of any product causing quality issues. * Stop any activity, substance, product, or process when it is detected to cause direct environmental impact or violate any compliance requirement. * RESOURCES / TOOLS / EQUIPMENT / SOFTWARE REQUIRED TO PERFORM RESPONSIBILITIES: Depending on the duties, will use: computer, software. This position requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment as specified in the safety data sheet and depending on the work area. * COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: * Ethics (Internal Work Regulations). * Quality methodology (Quality Procedures). * Customer orientation (Customer Requirements). * Results orientation (Metrics and goals). * EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED **Education:** The position requires an Engineering degree. **Work Experience:** Two years in a similar role. * REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of design software PRO\-E, Autocad, geometric dimensioning. Written and spoken English.
