




Job Description and Responsibilities * Comply with Smiths’ policies, internal work regulations, and leadership behaviors. * Comply with and participate in all of Smiths’ quality, safety, health, and environmental programs, as well as their policies, procedures, and training requirements. * Prevent workplace violence and promote a positive organizational environment. * Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-conditioned work area. * Attend and participate in organizational training and development programs. * Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Organization’s Engineering Function Policies. * Perform tasks requiring solid understanding and application of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures within one’s engineering specialization—e.g., Industrial, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, etc. * Develop and optimize manufacturing processes and workflow. * Support engineering department training by serving as a technical mentor; may supervise and recommend relevant development plans. * Develop Cost-Saving Projects (lead and implement VAVE projects). * Develop continuous improvement strategies and manage advanced manufacturing projects. * Conduct advanced statistical analysis (SPC, DOE, ANOVA, etc.). * Perform all duties or any other responsibilities arising from job operations or assigned by supervisor or management. Experience and Requirements * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, Industrial, Mechanical, etc.). * 10 years of experience in a similar role within the maquiladora industry, leading projects and cross-functional teams. * Lean and Six Sigma certification (preferably Green Belt or Black Belt). * Advanced English proficiency (80%). * Strong structured problem-solving orientation, including root cause identification using tools such as 8D, A3, or DMAIC. * Leadership and decision-making capabilities. * Mechanical design knowledge preferred. * Advanced proficiency in CAD, CAM, and simulation tools. * Ability to read aerospace drawings (GD&T) and technical diagrams. * Familiarity with AS9100 and NADCAP standards (preferred). * Technical analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to prioritize, plan, and manage multiple projects. * Teamwork capability. * Self-motivated and proactive work ethic. * Sense of urgency and ability to set priorities. * Conflict identification and resolution skills. * Customer-focused attitude. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
