




**Role Overview** **A facility and machinery maintenance leader is a senior, experienced professional responsible for managing and directing all maintenance operations for a facility or fleet of machinery. The profile combines strong technical knowledge with excellent leadership, strategic planning, and financial management skills. The role is focused on ensuring the reliable and safe operation of physical infrastructure and equipment to support business objectives.** **Core competencies and skills** A solid understanding of various trades, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems. Advanced ability to diagnose and solve complex technical issues with machinery and facility systems. Expertise in maintenance methodologies, such as preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM) and MP programs to track work orders, manage inventory, and analyze maintenance data. Skilled at planning, executing, and overseeing maintenance projects, renovations, and equipment installations. Experience in sourcing, negotiating with, and managing relationships with external contractors and service providers. **Key responsibilities** * Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime. * Oversee all maintenance and repair activities for the facility and its machinery. * Manage and track the departmental budget, ensuring cost\-effective operations. * Lead and develop the maintenance team through training and performance management. * Ensure all maintenance work is performed safely and in compliance with regulations. * Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives. * Manage external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and projects. * Analyze maintenance data to drive improvements and report on departmental performance. **Safety and compliance** A firm commitment to creating and enforcing a strong safety culture. The leader must anticipate safety issues and take proactive steps to ensure compliance with all regulations (e.g., OSHA, LOTO, ). Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to facility management, safety, and environmental standards. **Experience and qualifications** Typically requires extensive experience in maintenance management, often 5–10 years or more, with several years in a hands\-on and supervisory capacity.
