




*This job posting originates from the Talenteca.com job board* ### **Job opening at KM Headhunters Mexico in Otay Zone – Tijuana, Baja California** Industrial Engineer Location: Tijuana / San Diego Cross-Border Operations Company: JOB SUMMARY The Workshop Administrator will be responsible for the full operation of the maintenance workshop, including scheduling, cost control, inventory management, processes, safety, and regulatory compliance. We seek an Industrial Engineer with experience in transportation fleets, data analysis, and continuous improvement. RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Workshop Management Supervise daily workshop activities and technical staff. Prioritize preventive and corrective maintenance work orders. Ensure repair quality and adherence to timelines. Implement workshop operational procedures and standards. 2. Cost Control Manage expenses related to parts, labor, and external services. Analyze cost per mile, cost by repair type, and supplier performance. Implement and interpret key workshop KPIs. 3. Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Ensure compliance with the preventive maintenance (PM) schedule. Reduce recurring failures through root cause analysis. Maintain a digital and up-to-date service history for each vehicle. Validate external repairs and assess supplier quality. 4. Parts and Supplier Management Manage inventory levels, minimum stock thresholds, and procurement. Negotiate with suppliers to optimize costs and availability. 5. Compliance and Safety Ensure compliance with Mexican Official Standards (NOMs), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other applicable regulations. Conduct internal audits and promote safe work practices. REQUIREMENTS Academic Qualifications Industrial Engineering (preferred). Mechanical Engineering or related field with administrative experience. Experience Experience managing maintenance workshops or vehicle fleets. Experience in transportation or logistics. Proficiency in maintenance metrics and KPIs. Technical Knowledge Preventive and corrective maintenance processes. Inventory control, procurement, and parts management. Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies. Advanced Excel and data analysis skills. Basic knowledge of engines (Detroit, Cummins, PACCAR, Thermo King). Industrial safety principles. Soft Skills Leadership and ability to manage technical personnel. Clear communication with management and operations teams. Organization, discipline, and process orientation. Ability to work under pressure and solve problems effectively.
