This role is responsible for process capacity, cost reduction, and implementation of continuous improvement projects within its designated manufacturing unit. It delivers engineering work specific to the area of expertise, with broad overlap across expected engineering disciplines. Supports capacity planning and growth, as well as definition of budgeted rates and process documentation. Ensures compliance with BD’s quality systems, policies, procedures, and best practices, and all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Regular and punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Willing and able to uphold BD’s values. Experience and Requirements * Implements and maintains the BD Excellence work process for the Manufacturing Unit. * Identifies establishment of critical teams and creation of standards. * Builds technical knowledge for the manufacturing unit and transfers knowledge to operators and technical associates. * Trains associates on continuous improvement methodologies within the Manufacturing Unit. * Understands key losses within the manufacturing unit and develops and implements plans to eliminate losses and drive overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and overall labor effectiveness (OLE) performance. * Responsible for change control in the manufacturing unit, including validation activities, root cause analysis of prioritized OEE and OLE losses, and quality events, CAPA, and deviations. Other duties as required to support business needs. * **Technical Skills:** * Experience in a manufacturing environment. * Experience in continuous operational improvement and ability to act as a change agent. * Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. * Expertise in querying, report writing, and presenting findings. * Ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines. **Requirements:** * 2–3 years in similar roles * Bachelor’s degree (mandatory) in: Preferably Mechatronics Engineering or Mechanical Engineering * Conversational English (Advanced) * Experience in the medical device industry (desirable) "BD values workplace equity without discrimination against any disability, class, ethnicity, age, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation".
