Job Description and Responsibilities
**Position Objective**
Supervise and ensure compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, and operational requirements governing foreign trade operations and their clients, guaranteeing proper administration of IMMEX programs, tax certifications (VAT and IEPS), and customs controls—thereby minimizing risks and supporting the organization’s operational continuity.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Supervise compliance with obligations arising from IMMEX programs, VAT and IEPS certifications, and other applicable regulations.
* Coordinate internal foreign trade audits to identify deviations and improvement opportunities.
* Supervise the proper administration and reconciliation of inventory control systems (Annex 24 and Annex 30\).
* Track requirements, audits, and reviews conducted by authorities such as SAT (Tax Administration Service), Ministry of Economy, and National Customs Agency of Mexico.
* Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of certifications including CTPAT, AEO (Authorized Economic Operator), and other security- and compliance-related certifications.
* Supervise the development, updating, and dissemination of foreign trade-related internal policies, procedures, and controls.
* Analyze regulatory changes and communicate operational impacts to relevant departments.
* Coordinate investigations and corrective action plans arising from compliance incidents or audit findings.
* Generate compliance metrics and report results to management.
* Supervise and develop direct reports, ensuring achievement of objectives and performance standards.
Experience and Requirements
**Requirements:**
**Education**
* Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, International Business, International Relations, Law, Customs Administration, or a related field.
**Experience**
* 5 years of experience in foreign trade.
* 2 years in supervisory or coordination roles.
* Experience with IMMEX companies, maquiladoras, logistics operators, or customs agencies.
**Technical Knowledge**
* Customs Law.
* General Rules of Foreign Trade.
* IMMEX program.
* VAT and IEPS certifications.
* Annex 24 and Annex 30\.
* CTPAT and AEO.
* Tariff classification.
* Foreign trade audits.
* VUCEM (Single Window for Foreign Trade).
* Customs entries (pedimentos) and customs operations.
* ERP systems and inventory control software.
