An agricultural producers' organization is seeking to fill the position of **Potato Import Border Observer** for the **Mexicali, Northern Baja California** area. Analyze the potato market behavior within both national territory and the U.S., as well as statistics related to overall potato imports. Responsible for information gathering, analysis, and reporting. **Work Location:** Mexicali, Northern Baja California **Experience / Requirements:** * Experience in this or a similar role involving international trade procedures (imports), with knowledge of phytosanitary, customs, and logistics regulations; * Valid VISA, willingness to travel, and preferably English language proficiency; * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong data analysis and report writing skills; * Ability to meet deadlines; * Responsible for monitoring and reporting that fresh potato imports are conducted according to the Work Plan for Potato Imports agreed upon between the U.S. and Mexico; * Periodic travel to the U.S. at verification points to ensure potato imports comply with the established Work Plan; * Coordinate with SENASICA, Customs, and others to ensure imports comply with existing regulations; * Conduct visits to markets, supermarkets, etc., to collect pricing information on both Mexican and imported potatoes in both the U.S. and Mexico; * Investigate and gather information on potential smuggling cases or violations of the Work Plan and file formal complaints; * Research, collect, obtain, process, and record information related to potato imports; * Analytical individual with strong communication and writing skills, organizational and logistical abilities, responsibility, problem-solving capability, and decision-making skills to handle unexpected situations or issues during operations. **We Offer:** * Monthly net salary of $21,000 plus annual productivity bonus; * Contract-based hiring; * Reimbursement of travel expenses when necessary.
