




Position Summary: We are seeking an Infrastructure Technician to keep the network operational and documented, and to facilitate growth by conducting site surveys, preventing failures, and ensuring fiber-optic connectivity. Key Responsibilities: 1. Maintain and expand a leading telecommunications fiber-optic network. 2. Perform installation and repair of fiber-optic equipment and links. 3. Collaborate on infrastructure projects and ensure service quality. Flō Networks is a leading provider of telecommunications services between the United States and Mexico. We deliver voice and data services to Fortune 1000 companies, telecommunications providers, and cable operators via a 10,000-km fiber-optic network spanning both countries. We are seeking an **Infrastructure Technician** to maintain network operations, documentation, and growth in **Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.** The **Infrastructure Technician** is responsible for performing effective site surveys to accurately estimate project costs, directing preventive maintenance efforts, and maintaining response times below standard in case of failures. Simultaneously, they perform tasks including equipment installation within data centers, fiber interconnections between equipment, testing of external fiber links, and responding to and repairing outages at Data Centers and Outside Plant (OSP). The **Infrastructure Technician** will serve as our best ambassador—always demonstrating service orientation, urgency, and professionalism, consistently exceeding customer expectations. Responsibilities: * Support the Provisioning team in delivering new services. * Repair external plant network failures in the shortest possible time. * Install hardware and steel supports; lay and splice fiber-optic cable. * Inspect the network, identify risks, make routine decisions, and correct issues proactively using test tools—such as OTDRs, power meters, etc. * Document progress in designated systems. * Perform fusion splicing, connectorization, and terminations. * Prepare natural break and drop splice closures according to established standards. * Maintain inventory control for crew materials and materials delivered to contractors. * Identify our underground infrastructure for third parties using locator equipment. * Use measurement equipment for fault detection. * Understand CFE and Municipal guidelines for proper project execution. * Support installation and maintenance of wireless links. * Conduct field surveys to validate proposed fiber routes, make routine decisions to modify projects in compliance with CFE and Municipal guidelines, and deliver Excel and KMZ files. * Support the Infrastructure Manager in maintaining KPIs within established limits. * Be available to respond to emergencies and participate in on-call rotations. Requirements: * Proficient use of basic hand and power tools. * Knowledge and practical experience in safe installation practices related to telecommunications infrastructure construction (racks, equipment, grounding, cables, and associated terminations). * Familiarity with fiber-optic cables, connectors, splicing techniques, enclosures, organization, and industry best practices. * Ability to operate a variety of specialized fiber-optic test equipment, such as power meters, traffic identifiers, OTDRs, visual fault locators (VFLs), laser sources, etc. * As crews often work in public areas, candidates must maintain professional conduct. * Must possess excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, leadership, and customer service skills, along with strong business ethics. * Knowledge of utility power systems. * Electrical and electronic principles knowledge is preferred. * Familiarity with personal computers and software applications. * Industry certifications related to fiber-optic installation and testing are desired but not required. * Valid driver’s license required. **Privacy Notice:** Flō Networks does not use applicants’ personal information for any purpose other than strictly for recruitment processes.
