You’ll lead with purpose, breaking down barriers to innovation in a more connected, compassionate world. **A Day in the Life** ===================== **The Lago site** The Customs Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that import and export operations comply with Mexican customs legislation, applicable regulations, and corporate policies. This position coordinates with customs brokers, logistics providers, and internal teams to ensure proper clearance of goods, accurate tariff classification, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the role tracks foreign trade documentation, internal or governmental audits, and supports the implementation of process improvements to mitigate compliance risks and ensure continuity of international trade operations at the Tijuana site. **Responsibilities:** * Review and validate foreign trade documentation, including customs entries, commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and transportation documents for correct integration into the digital file of operations. * Ensure accurate tariff classification of materials, products, and equipment. * Verify compliance with applicable non\-tariff regulations and restrictions. * Maintain ongoing communication with customs brokers, carriers, and logistics providers to ensure timely clearance of goods. * Monitor changes in foreign trade regulations and assess their impact on operations. * Track internal and external audits related to foreign trade and customs compliance. * Support implementation and improvement of controls and processes to strengthen regulatory compliance. * Collaborate with internal departments such as logistics, procurement, finance, planning, and quality to ensure efficient international trade operations. * Maintain required records and documentation to meet regulatory and audit requirements. **MEDTRONIC SPECIALIST CAREER PROGRESSION:** Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a discipline or professional specialty.
