**JOB DESCRIPTION:**
Capable of achieving and maintaining safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency standards within defined timeframes to meet production schedules through effective coordination of team activities and efficient management.
* JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Provide coaching and mentoring to supervisors to achieve departmental goals.
* Collaborate with various departments for planning, implementation, and adherence to objectives.
* Review production costs and product quality for production and inventory control.
* Plan for maintenance and improvement of product profitability.
* Promote a positive work environment for team building, personal and professional development of employees while maintaining discipline, respect, and safety in the area.
* Promote clear and open communication across departments.
* Ensure team members adhere to safety policies and objectives.
* Analyze key performance indicator data to identify risks and opportunities for the area/organization.
* Resolve conflicts and serve as mediator and leader among department members.
* Ability to define problems, analyze information, establish facts, and formulate solutions.
* Deliver training programs for direct reports and assign curricula.
* Ensure practices that guarantee correct completion of DHRs.
* Implement necessary measures to prevent accidents, occupational illnesses, and environmental contingencies within the company.
* Report unsafe acts, conditions, and environmental hazards observed in any area of the company.
* Comply with safety, health, and environmental controls established in the company’s RIT.
**Extrusion Knowledge Desirable:**
* Basic knowledge of extrusion and plastic molding processes. Example: types of extruders, materials used, and process variables (temperature, pressure, and speed).
* Basic knowledge of machinery mechanisms: familiarity with operation of extrusion machines, including components such as screws, barrels, dies, and cooling systems.
* Knowledge of quality control techniques to ensure extruded products meet required specifications.
* Ability to implement and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance programs for extrusion machinery.
* Skills to maintain production, quality, and maintenance records, and prepare reports for senior management.
* Knowledge of continuous improvement and process optimization techniques such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

**EHS RESPONSIBILITIES, ROLES AND AUTHORITY:**
**Responsibilities**
* Verify that all employees understand both emergency procedures and hazard reporting procedures.
* Responsible for ensuring employees are aware of EHS procedures and area-specific policies, e.g., PPE requirements, emergency response procedures, etc.
* Communicate and implement EHS activities in support of annual EHS plan objectives and goals.
* Demonstrate EHS leadership by participating in EHS Kaizen events, leading incident investigation teams, participating in internal EHS inspections and audits, and ensuring effective EHS training.
* Communicate outstanding EHS issues and status of goals.
* Encourage employee involvement in EHS activities.
* Track employee EHS concerns to resolution.
* Implement and enforce EHS procedures and policies uniformly and consistently.
* Hold direct reports accountable for EHS performance.
* Measure employee performance and commend them for positive EHS behavior and results.
* Immediately counsel and advise employees engaging in risky behavior.
* Celebrate success as EHS goals are achieved or actions executed.
* Fulfill legal responsibilities under national or federal regulations, such as exercising reasonable care for one’s own safety, health, and well-being, and that of others who may be affected by one’s acts or omissions at work.
* Follow established EHS procedures and policies.
* Encourage coworkers to follow EHS procedures.
* Participate in employee engagement activities, e.g., EHS inspections and EHS meetings.
* Report EHS hazards and incidents, collaborate in root cause analysis when appropriate, and collaborate on finding solutions or implementing improvements.
* Complete mandatory EHS training.
* Report unsafe conditions and acts to EHS contacts.
* Attend scheduled EHS trainings.
**Authorities**
* Require all EHS procedures and policies to be applied uniformly and consistently.
* Require EHS review of new or modified processes, procedures, or contracted work.
* Stop work if contractors or other employees perform tasks that could cause serious injury or environmental incidents.
* Enforce disciplinary measures per internal policies when safety procedures are not followed.
* Require use of personal protective equipment.
* Stop work if contractors or other employees perform tasks that could cause serious injury or environmental incidents.
* Refuse to perform any activity endangering the health of one’s own staff or the building/facilities.
* Refuse to perform operations/activities for which one is untrained or feels one’s integrity is at risk.
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:**
* Bachelor’s degree
* +5 years in a similar position desirable
* Intermediate English
* Intermediate Office / TRESS / BPCS / 5S / GMPs / Six Sigma GB desirable
