Descripción y detalle de las actividades About Us Hawk Excavator and EDDY Pump design and manufacture excavator attachments, slurry pumps, dredging systems, and heavy industrial equipment used worldwide in mining, marine, oil \& gas, construction, and wastewater. We’re expanding our Tijuana engineering center and looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who can take products from concept to production with speed and precision. The Role You’ll own mechanical designs—SolidWorks models, drawings, BOMs, and release—and work closely with our Tijuana manufacturing team to ensure parts are buildable, serviceable, and cost\-effective. Expect hands\-on collaboration with fabrication, machining, welding, assembly, and suppliers. What You’ll Do * Create and update 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings in SolidWorks (weldments, sheet metal, machined parts). * Apply DFM/DFA and GD\&T; set tolerances and stack\-ups that work in the real world. * Drive ECR/ECN updates from redlines and shop feedback; maintain data in PDM/PLM and push changes to ERP/MRP (BOMs, revisions). * Design for rugged environments: pump wet\-ends, housings, bearing frames, power\-unit skids, excavator attachments (buckets, booms, mounts). * Run quick hand calcs/FEA (as needed) for strength, stiffness, and fatigue; select materials/finishes for abrasion/corrosion. * Build clear work instructions and support first\-article builds, tooling/fixtures, and test plans. * Partner with Supply Chain and vendors for manufacturability, lead\-time/cost, and quality. * Support cross\-border builds; occasional travel to San Diego Experiencia y requisitos * BS in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience). * 3–7\+ years in mechanical design for fabrication/machining/weldments; heavy equipment or pump industry a plus. * Strong SolidWorks skills (assemblies, configurations, weldments, sheet metal); PDM/PLM experience. * Comfortable reading and creating production\-ready drawings with GD\&T. * Practical knowledge of hydraulics, rotating equipment, bearings/seals, and fasteners. * Experience releasing BOMs and working with ERP/MRP. * Excellent communicator; thrives working with the shop floor and suppliers. * Bilingual Spanish/English highly preferred. Nice to Have * Experience with abrasion\-resistant materials (high\-chrome, AR plate, duplex SS), coatings/liners. * Basic FEA (SolidWorks Simulation or similar). * Knowledge of welding codes, fixtures, and weld symbol standards. * Field/service exposure (root\-cause, corrective actions).
