Description and details of responsibilities * Permit Management: Manage and keep up-to-date permits, licenses, and contingency plans with Civil Protection, Fire Department, and local environmental authorities. * Inspections and Audits: Conduct daily walkthroughs and safety inspections on the production floor, identifying unsafe acts and conditions, ergonomic risks, and potential hazards. * Incident Management: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near\-misses using root cause analysis methodologies. Implement and track corrective and preventive actions. * Training: Develop and deliver industrial safety training programs (e.g., PPE usage, chemical handling, ergonomics, working at heights, LOTO, etc.) for new hires and current employees. * Safety and Hygiene Committee: Lead, coordinate, and document meetings and minutes of the Joint Safety and Hygiene Committee. * Emergency Brigades: Coordinate, train, and conduct drills with emergency brigades (first aid, evacuation, fire suppression). * Contractor Management: Supervise high\-risk work performed by suppliers and contractors onsite, ensuring proper work permits and compliance with safety measures. Experience and Requirements * Bachelor’s degree or completed engineering program in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Safety, or related field. * Experience: Minimum **3 to 5 years of verifiable experience as a Supervisor** or Safety and Hygiene Coordinator in manufacturing, maquiladora, or distribution center environments. * **English: Intermediate\-Advanced level (B2 or higher).** Essential for communication with corporate, reading international machinery manuals, and reporting global KPIs. * Thorough knowledge of applicable Mexican legislation (STPS, IMSS, Civil Protection). Experience managing government procedures (Environmental License, Internal Civil Protection Programs, ST\-7, ST\-2\). * Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Mexican Official Standards (NOMs) issued by STPS, Civil Protection requirements, Fire Department regulations, and local, state, and federal environmental regulations. * Ability to promote a prevention culture across all organizational levels.
