Job Description and Detailed Responsibilities
* Maintain up-to-date environmental, safety, and occupational health permits, licenses, and records.
* Routinely track metrics to monitor compliance.
* Communicate, persuade, and motivate plant personnel to comply with safety and environmental measures through campaigns and other means.
* Monitor compliance with safety training requirements.
* Participate in inventory management to maintain updated maximum and minimum material levels related to environmental matters.
* Maintain appropriate statistics and methodologies to generate accident and incident reports and statistics.
* Keep procedures updated for high-risk tasks such as work at heights, confined space entry, handling of hazardous chemicals, and other activities identified as high-risk within the plant.
* Participate in the company's auditable systems requirements.
* Maintain the master list of compliance obligations.
* Submit required documentation for administrative tasks timely and accurately.
* Implement necessary controls to safeguard company assets.
* Supervise safety conditions across operations and projects.
* Coordinate investigations of incidents, accidents, and unsafe conditions, including follow-up actions.
* Collaborate with the medical department in implementing health and wellness programs.
* Follow up on occupational medical surveillance and workplace ergonomics.
* Coordinate emergency response plans, civil protection, and fire brigade activities.
* Supervise emergency drills and emergency response teams.
* Support the Maintenance Manager in strategic decision-making.
* Supervise personnel under their responsibility within the area and ensure proper execution of activities.
* Serve as the liaison between management, supervisors, and operational departments regarding EHS matters.
Experience and Requirements
* Degree in Occupational Safety and Health Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, or a closely related field.
* Minimum 5 years of experience
* Bilingual
* Certifications in management systems.
* Diplomas in Safety, Health, and Environment or Management Systems.
* Internal/external auditor, risk management, first aid.
* Problem-solving skills
* Ability to work under pressure
* Decision-making ability
