HEALTH SPECIALIST

**About the Position** The Health Specialist is responsible for supervising and providing technical guidance to ensure the quality of care in the project's service areas. This position will support the implementation and monitoring of all health-related activities under the Camino Protegido project, which provides vital medical, maternal, and mental health services to girls, boys, adolescents, and families in high-risk and crisis-affected environments. The Health Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the effective delivery of integrated health services through Emergency Service Points, coordination of multidisciplinary teams, capacity building of local health providers, and strengthening referral networks. The role also includes close collaboration with implementing partners and local health authorities to ensure a coherent, rights-based, and life-saving health response for vulnerable populations. **Required Experience and Education** * Medical Doctor or Nursing Professional * Preferably with a Master’s degree in Public Health or related field. * Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in humanitarian health programs, clinical care, or health service delivery, especially in displacement or high vulnerability contexts. * Demonstrated experience in coordinating multidisciplinary health teams and in technical supervision within mobile or emergency health settings. * Experience in public health disciplines such as health communication, community health, or health promotion is particularly valued. * **Preferably reside in Tapachula, Chiapas, and/or Villahermosa, Tabasco** **Main Responsibilities** * Plan, coordinate, and supervise health team activities to ensure the delivery of high-quality, vital medical services aligned with project objectives. * Provide technical supervision to Mobile Service Points (PUSP), ensuring timely, appropriate, and integrated delivery of emergency health services, maternal and neonatal care, and mental health services. * Update or design context-specific strategies and protocols for medical and mental health professionals delivering direct services to highly vulnerable populations, including girls, boys, adolescents, and their caregivers. * Support the implementation and monitoring of all health-related components of the project, including clinical service delivery, community outreach, referrals, and health communications. * Coordinate the distribution and management of essential medicines, maternal health kits, and educational materials, ensuring their proper use, inventory control, and alignment with project goals. * Train and advise staff, as well as implementing partners (shelters, local NGOs, and government institutions), on diagnosis and management of acute, life-threatening conditions. * Facilitate train-the-trainer sessions for local health professionals and psychologists using participatory and simulation-based methods to strengthen capacities in emergency care and psychosocial support. * Provide technical leadership to field-based multidisciplinary teams (doctors, nurses, psychologists) to ensure integrated, coordinated, and person-centered care. * Coordinate with local community leaders, traditional birth attendants, and frontline workers to identify and follow up with individuals requiring urgent maternal, neonatal, or mental health services. * Actively participate in intersectoral coordination forums, such as health and protection roundtables, to align and contribute to broader humanitarian response initiatives. * Establish and maintain referral networks with hospitals, health centers, and humanitarian medical partners (e.g., MSF, Médecins du Monde, ICRC) and share updates on services and implementation sites. * Ensure timely and high-quality documentation and reporting on clinical services, referrals, trainings, and health outcomes in accordance with donor requirements and ChildFund standards. * Promote staff wellbeing by contributing mental health resources and wellness strategies, in collaboration with external providers such as KonTerra. **Required Competencies** * ChildFund’s core competencies apply to all roles within ChildFund and are linked to our organizational values and the achievement of our Growing Connections 2030 strategy. **ChildFund Core Competencies** * Teamwork: ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others;
