





**K:\\ReynosaHR\\Job Descriptions\\Vertiv** **Brief Job Description:** **POSITION SUMMARY** The Fabrication Welding Engineer is responsible for developing and managing welding procedures and processes to ensure high\-quality fabrication of metal structures and components. This role requires expertise in welding techniques, metallurgy, material selection, and design interpretation to support production efficiency, product quality, and compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, ISO). **RESPONSIBILITIES** * Develop, implement, and maintain welding procedures (WPS/PQR) in accordance with applicable codes and standards. * Provide technical support to welders and fabrication teams during project execution. * Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and fabrication plans. * Conduct weld inspections, tests, and analysis to verify quality and compliance. * Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize welding methods, reduce waste, and improve productivity. * Assist in welder qualification testing and maintain certification records. * Evaluate and select appropriate welding equipment, tools, and consumables. * Collaborate with design engineers and project managers to support manufacturability and feasibility of designs. * Troubleshoot welding defects and fabrication issues, recommending corrective actions. * Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards in welding operations. **QUALIFICATIONS** * Proven experience in a fabrication or welding engineering role (3\+ years preferred). * In\-depth knowledge of welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW, etc.). * Familiarity with industry codes such as ASME Section IX, AWS D1\.1, ISO 3834, or API standards. * Strong understanding of metallurgy, material properties, and heat treatment. * Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints. * Experience with welding simulation software, CAD tools, and quality management systems. * Drive and Sense of Urgency * Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills. * Attention to detail and commitment to quality. * Effective communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and in cross\-functional teams. * Project management and organizational abilities. **EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS** * Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related English preferred (read, write and speak). * **Working Conditions:** * Split between office, workshop, and production floor environments. * May require occasional travel to supplier sites or project locations. * Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is required in the manufacturing areas. \#LI\-GL1
