**Maintenance Assistant** UVM is looking for personnel for the maintenance area. **Position Objective:** Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance tasks according to the designated specialty (electrician, mason, plumber, blacksmith, carpenter, painter), in order to preserve and maintain facilities, furniture, and equipment in optimal operating and functional condition. Actively participate in the execution of the campus's annual maintenance plan, as well as its timely monitoring, to prevent service interruptions and/or complaints regarding the services provided by the campus. **Functions and activities:** Perform maintenance activities in the following areas: Electrical work, plumbing, welding, aluminum and glass, carpentry, masonry, gardening, painting, ensuring the campus facilities remain in optimal condition. Carry out relocation and assembly of various furniture and equipment to meet campus operational needs. Support the maintenance technician in performing scheduled maintenance tasks, thus contributing to the timely execution of activities outlined in the annual maintenance plan. Perform maintenance tasks wherever necessary to keep facilities in proper operating condition. Actively participate in tasks included in the annual maintenance plan and ensure high-quality execution of performed tasks. Provide maintenance and care for tools belonging to the department. **Requirements:** * Upper secondary education (high school or technical) / Incomplete higher education * 1 to 3 years of experience * DC3 certification by specialty as applicable (electrician, mason, plumber, blacksmith, carpenter, painter) * Proficiency with tools and personal safety equipment * Knowledge and handling of solvents, painting materials, and precautions when working at heights and in confined spaces **Competencies:** High sense of urgency to address urgent requests arising from campus operations Ability to manage frustration due to recurring necessary repairs Deliver high-quality, efficient, and excellent service **Why work at UVM?** We are Mexico’s largest private university, with 60 years of academic experience, social commitment, and professional vision.
