Crisis Group is launching a new program on Global Issues and Institutions. The program will include *(i)* a project on global order and peacemaking; *(ii)* Crisis Group’s eEarth project monitoring resources and generating data\-driven early warning; *(iii)* research and advocacy work relating to the UN and other international institutions; *(iv)* early warning and research; and *(v)* gender and conflict. The five streams of work will be independent but Crisis Group aims to find opportunities for cross\-cutting initiatives involving different parts of the program. The program will also work with Crisis Group’s programs to develop joint initiatives and publications. In establishing this program, Crisis Group is looking for a Senior Analyst to work on the global order and peacemaking project. The goal of the project is to identify and analyze trends in deadly violence, map new approaches to peacemaking, and address how shifts in the global order are affecting conflict prevention and resolution. While the scope of the work is global, it will be informed by – and help inform – Crisis Group’s country\-based and regional analyses. Our goal is to connect our observations of particular conflicts to geopolitical trends, while also looking at how to craft recommendations for averting or ending conflicts that reflect today’s power politics. The Senior Analyst will work closely with the Program Director to develop this strand of work, *(i)* engaging directly on specific pieces of research; and *(ii)* coordinating and collaborating with other Crisis Group staff to develop other pieces of research; and *(iii)* undertaking related advocacy and administrative tasks. The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently across an organization with centers and staff around the world, connecting ideas from all parts of ICG. **Location:** The position can be located in any country where Crisis Group has a registration, including Kenya, South Africa, Turkey, Colombia, Canada, US, UK, Belgium or Mexico. The successful candidate will also need to spend some time in Crisis Group’s hubs (Brussels, Nairobi, etc.) and will have to travel for Crisis Group internal meetings and public events.
