We are the people behind the people who continue to save lives. Responsibilities: Performs technical functions under direct supervision. Responsible for providing general laboratory support and performing routine testing in accordance with established laboratory test methods and procedures to support accurate manufacturing and delivery of products to our customers. After training, will perform more advanced testing involving quantitative instrumentation. Will provide training and guidance to less experienced technicians and lead them through special projects. May be trained to conduct routine instrument calibration verifications or participate in special laboratory projects.* Performs microbiological and analytical testing * Conducts environmental sampling/monitoring * Prepares sample labels * Analyzes routine samples using applicable test methods * Performs non-compendial advanced analyses * Captures samples in electronic and manual laboratory systems, which may include logbooks and control number maintenance logs * Executes and monitors routine and special tests via MLA (Microbiology) using laboratory instruments * Recognizes issues during analysis and testing * Initiates, participates in, and/or closes investigations for non-conforming laboratory tests and/or environmental excursions * Performs instrument calibration-related verifications * Ensures equipment and materials are used within valid calibration/expiry dates * May be required to assist in calibration activities (e.g., range definition) * Performs and records laboratory observations and calculations * Collects and prepares data for evaluation and/or trend analysis * Timely procurement of materials and instruments for laboratory testing * Archives documentation * Performs other duties as assigned by Laboratory Management and/or immediate Supervisor * Assists and trains/certifies less experienced technicians * Prepares and presents laboratory metrics * In cases of specialized computer skills, the properly trained technician participates in software (LIMS) – Laboratory Information Management System – activities for electronic test documentation, including making corrections, change requests, improvements, etc. * Maintains work area clean and compliant with the 5S program * Supports internal, environmental, and safety laboratory activities * Actively participates during execution of activities as part of Validations or Revalidations of various equipment and systems controlled by the laboratory * Participates in Kaizen program * Participates in compliance audits for dress code requirements in manufacturing areas * Meets assigned goals in Workday system and assigns goals to others if required Qualifications: Required Qualifications* Completed degree or currently pursuing graduation * 6+ years of experience in a laboratory environment Bilingual English/Spanish or currently studying English Preferred Qualifications: * Training in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO requirements * Knowledge and application of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) * Knowledge and application of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) * Oral and written communication skills * Strong interpersonal and organizational skills * Self-motivated * Proficiency with PCs and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office) and (LIMS) * Ability to lift heavy objects (per Mexican Official Standard NOM-036-1-STPS-2018, “Ergonomic Risk Factors in the Workplace – Identification, Analysis, Prevention and Control. Part 1: Manual Handling of Loads.”) * Personal protective equipment must be worn at all times when in laboratory, warehouse, etc. (lab coat, safety goggles, face mask, etc., as specified in procedures)
