The Mechanical Designer is a technical professional specialized in the creation and development of mechanical solutions, machinery, equipment, and components. Using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, they are responsible for translating concepts and technical information into detailed drawings and 3D models. Beyond the drafting phase, this role involves performing calculations to ensure the feasibility, strength, and functionality of designs, as well as preparing the necessary technical documentation for part manufacturing and assembly. **Key Responsibilities** * **CAD Design and Modeling:** * Create and develop 2D and 3D assembly and detail drawings using design software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar. * Generate solid models and complex surfaces for mechanical components. * Interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and customer requirements to develop functional designs. * **Equipment Calculation and Analysis:** * Perform basic engineering calculations to size components, ensure material strength, and guarantee proper design functionality. * Select appropriate materials for each application, considering cost, availability, and mechanical properties. * Analyze tolerances and fits to ensure correct assembly and part interchangeability. * **Preparation of Technical Documentation:** Generate and maintain updated parts lists or "Bill of Materials" (BOM), detailing each component, quantity, material, and specifications. * **Preparation of Technical Documentation:** Generate and maintain updated parts lists or "Bill of Materials" (BOM), detailing each component, quantity, material, and specifications Job Type: Contract Pay: $12,000.00 - $18,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
