Develop technical skills through real-world projects **Job Title** ------------- Mechanical Engineering Trainee – DT **What Your Day Will Look Like** -------------------- The Mechanical Engineering Trainee is responsible for supporting operational continuity within the Distribution Transformer Engineering team in Guanajuato. This 12-month temporary position is designed to provide engineering department support, contributing to project timelines and departmental objectives. This role focuses on two main areas: direct technical support to senior engineers in design and modeling activities, and assistance in technical documentation management and engineering process compliance. The trainee will participate in creating and modifying mechanical designs, interpreting drawings, supporting prototyping, as well as validation and testing activities. This will enable hands-on experience in transformer engineering, working on real projects while developing technical skills under Siemens Energy’s guidelines. **Your Responsibilities** ------------------------------ * Support senior engineers in creating and modifying 2D/3D mechanical designs using CAD software * Collaborate in preparing and updating bills of materials (BOM) and technical specifications * Participate in design reviews and engineering meetings to understand project requirements * Support prototyping, testing, and validation activities alongside manufacturing and quality teams * Assist in preparing, organizing, and controlling technical documentation (drawings, calculations, project files) * Ensure compliance with engineering standards, procedures, and guidelines * Collect data and support preparation of reports related to engineering activities **Requirements for the Position** ------------------------------------------- * Currently enrolled student or recent graduate (maximum 1 year of experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field * No professional experience required (internships, academic projects, or practical training are a plus) * Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering principles * Basic proficiency in CAD software (preferably AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) * Ability to interpret technical drawings * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) * Intermediate level spoken and written English * Availability to work onsite in León **Soft Skills (MANDATORY):** * Willingness to learn * Analytical thinking and problem-solving * Teamwork and collaboration * Attention to detail * Effective communication * Proactivity **ABOUT US** ------------------------ "Let’s make a different tomorrow — today" is our true commitment at Siemens Energy to all customers and employees on the path toward a sustainable, CO2-neutral future. **MORE INFORMATION** ------------------- Get energized.
