About the Role You will design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and highly available backend systems supporting operations for over 3,000 restaurants across Mexico and LATAM — guaranteeing software quality, performance, and reliability, as this software forms the heart of our customers’ businesses. We are seeking candidates based in CDMX or Monterrey. We are the \#ParrotFlock Responsibilities * Develop and maintain scalable REST APIs to efficiently and securely handle large traffic volumes. * Design and evolve backend architecture components, documenting technical decisions and promoting best practices. * Maintain real-time systems with high availability, ensuring proactive monitoring and rapid incident response. * Implement unit, integration, and load tests to ensure production stability. * Optimize data access using ORMs and advanced SQL queries, applying performance tuning and design patterns. * Collaborate with other squads (frontend, infrastructure, product) to deliver end\-to\-end solutions. * Participate in code reviews by providing constructive feedback and elevating the team’s technical standards. Skills ⚒ * Python 3\.x with Django 3\.x\+ (minimum 3 years). TypeScript (minimum 2 years). Go is a plus. * REST APIs: design, security, versioning, and efficiency. * Relational databases: PostgreSQL/MySQL — modeling, normalization, query optimization. * ORMs (Django ORM, SQLAlchemy) and efficient data access patterns. * Basic NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB): judgment on when to apply each. * Microservices and distributed systems: message queues (Celery, RabbitMQ, Kafka). * Git, CI/CD, Docker. * Testing: unit, integration, and load testing. Nice to have... * Experience with payment systems or fintech (Kushki, Stripe, Conekta). * Observability tools: Datadog, Sentry, Grafana. * High-concurrency or real-time environments. * Cloud (AWS/GCP) and serverless architectures. * Integrations with delivery apps (UberEats, Rappi, DiDi Food).
